We're thinking Bowie! Mr Start gets hip for Autumn/Winter '13, produced and directed by our very own POP girl Nina Walbecq and Lernik Nasseri. The show's sound, curated by Armin Suljic, Bradley Steptoe and Eamonn Patrick Frighil, included a track we've been humming all evening "Just Be", created especially for the collection.
Mr Start's turned-up low fi distortions, which provided the soundtrack to the show at The Hospital Club, transported the audience somewhere that felt both familiar and refreshingly new. Sixties tones picked up in the music were echoed in the sleek Mod aesthetic; impeccable tailoring teamed with a classic roll neck, simplicity and elegance at its peak. Autumnal tones of evergreen, burgundy and charcoal evoked a sense of nostalgia, but clever details brought the collection into the present, the two-tone contrast coloured blazers, humorously windswept hair and the beautiful driving gloves teamed with matching knits.
Moving on from a sole emphasis on tailoring, luxury knitwear and the outerwear this season made the collection feel really rounded and comprehensive. The highlight being the forest green moleskin bomber that I’m sure every guy would want, and every girl would want to steal from there boyfriend. Mr. Smart has definitely made it clear that they excel at more than just suiting.

But here, seductively reductive, Lee Roach presents a refined collection with just a little glitter.
Taking shelter from a blizzard at Bally's Autumn/Winter presentation in Bedford Square. Cozy.
