Today's POP is Elisabeth, kicking it courtside.

Although Italian brand Superga invented the tennis shoe in 1911, the grass courts aren’t the only place you’ll spot the legendary shoes these days. With Alexa Chung filling in as Creative Director, Superga has taken on a new path for the classic brand and given a twist—most notably with their current collaboration with Henry Holland. Offering up a mixed pallet of Superga’s timeless shapes and House of Holland’s quirky prints, this line is not one to miss!

Why Superga?

I love the shoes and I love the brand. Collaborating with a brand with such great heritage made it easy for us to make a collection that we both loved.

How was it combining the classic designs of Superga with your own, more eccentric style?

The classics from Superga provided the perfect canvas for the House of Holland prints past and present and I feel like the finished collection is a great representation of our respective brands.

Polka-dots are a recurring pattern in your designs. Can you tell us why you chose to use those prints?

They make my smile. They are a happy print.

Why did you choose to work with high tops and flatforms in your collection?

The flatform gave the classic plimsoll a more fashion-forward feel with echoes of a brothel creeper. I liked the high-tops for a harder, more masculine feel.

What will your next collaboration be?

Henry Holland x Pop Magazine?!
