Today’s POP is Stephanie. Take me to the Mojave.

Just before the holidays we were invited over to a Press Pop-Up hosted by Paige Denim.  We had the pleasure of being greeted by the extremely warm and charming Paige herself, who delightfully took us through her new Spring/Summer 12 collection.

After only a few minutes of chatting with Paige, you begin to wonder why it is we don’t all live in California and completely understand why in fact she does. The model turned designer took us back to when she began her line as an alternative for women to all the denim brands she’d previously modelled for.  Now given a slight ‘face-lift’ during the brand’s recent re-design, Paige explained that her original logo was an extension of the designer’s own signature.  And after being with Paige for more than 5 minutes, you completely get a sense of how personal it all is for her. She’s extremely passionate, enthusiastic and highly involved in each and every aspect of her brand.

Her major source of inspiration for Spring/Summer: “Salt Flats”. For those of you, like myself, who don’t live on the beautiful west-coast of America and have no idea what Salt Flats are aside from a slight speculation thanks to Antonioni's Zabriski Point, Paige explains:

“Salt Flats is an area in the desert, where, if you’re driving to Las Vegas [from L.A.], you can see there was a body of water that’s been completely dried up and it’s absolutely amazing. If you saw my inspiration pictures you would understand my design process for this denim.”

And that I did. Now I’m dreaming of those magnificent Salt Flats…
