Today's POP is Stephanie. A Canadian in London…

Whilst touring central for some post-boxing day deals, I took a quick detour and ventured into the

21

White Cube Mason's Yard to view some works by my fellow Canadian Jeff Wall.

Love him or hate him, each and every one of his photographs provide a detailed education on art and the politics of representation, and for that, I'm a fan. I also always enjoy a good dialogue between past and present which he never fails to provide. My favourite: Ivan Sayers, costume historian, lectures at the University Women's Club, Vancouver, 7 December 2009, which for me is an extension of Wall's '79 reference to Manet with Picture for Women.

Worth a gander if you're running between Dover Street Market and Selfridges like me, or if you're just generally interested in a quick art history lesson.
