Today's POP is Alejandro. We sent him off to a Primal Scream concert and challanged him not to scream. He lost the challange. Shockadelica.

It has been twenty years since Primal Scream released their legendary Screamadelica, an album chartered as one of the most influential records of all time, its perfect combination of genres without drawing away from its rock, soul and dub roots makes it a unique and eclectic work that it should be in every record collection.

Their revival tour has taken the Scottish band all over Europe performing the full track list from their groundbreaking album. Last weekend they performed, both Friday and Saturday at the Brixton Academy. It was sold out, of course, but we were lucky enough to be on Bobby Gillespie’s guest list…bring it on!

With the words: “Brixton, are you ready to testify??!!” they kicked off an epic concert with gospel singers, an eight piece band, psychedelic visuals and with Mr. Gillespie conducting the “ceremony” to perfection.
As promise, they performed, to a crowded Academy, every single song from their acclaimed Screamadelica; Loaded, Higher than the Sun, Slip Inside this House, Movin´on up… they are all modern classics, massive anthems, timeless pieces of music that were played with such a flair and freshness that it seemed they were written yesterday. It felt like a new born band with a new born album. Screamadelica is more alive than ever before…believe!!
