POP 379 Monday 30 August 2010
Today's POP is Becky. So excited she can finally talk about meeting Britney Spears. Go on… ask away!
Kirsty and I had a whirlwind 24 hours visiting
12
Fresh from the beach at Bandol, we dashed, sea salt still in our hair, to have the privilege of lunching with Maja Hoffman and Doug Aitken. Maja took us to exhibition 21 (The Recontre d'Arles awards) in the huge warehouses near the train tracks and kindly walked us through the exhibition, which is a wonderful culmination of some of the most important contemporary photographers of today. Presented by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Phillippe Parreno, Tom Eccles, Liam Gillik and Beatrix Ruff, the artists exhibited include Taryn Simon, Roe Ethridge, Anne Collier and Liz Deschenes.
I stayed for a few days after, would have been rude not to, especially since the locals were so friendly! xxx
