POP 200 Tuesday, 12 January 2010
Today’s Pop is David. He might be blonde but he’s still brought us a world exclusive – the planet’s first peak at Mr. Nils, Lars Nilsson’s (of Nina Ricci and Gianfranco Ferré fame) first endeavor into both menswear and a brand bearing his name. Who said Swedes were a bunch of good for nothings?
As most fashion insiders know, Pitti Uomo starts today in Florence and this year one of its special invitees is Lars Nilsson. After years honing his skills as the head of several fashion houses, he’s now teamed up with the Italian manufacturer Mabro, concocting Mr. Nils – Lars’ own brand and alter ego.

Made entirely in Italy, it’s a return to attention to detail focusing on quality daywear and outerwear fabrics.
The whole of Pitti seems to be buzzing and tonight they’lll get a glimpse of Mr. Nils at the Museo Marino Marini. To bad POP was first. Just so you know…
