POP 160 Thursday, 19 November 2009
Today’s POP is Genevieve, who is POP-ing in our POP HQ this week and adding some Iranian & Belgian mixed flavour.

We think there’s something so POP about Van Cleef & Arpels dazzling collection of butterflies. It reminds us of our last cover by Damien Hirst which happened to be blooming with butterflies.
For those who are unaware Van Cleef & Arpels started with a blistering romance between Estelle Arpels and Alfred Van Cleef which led to the beginning of one of the world’s most celebrated jewellers.
One of the themes of the collection is the ‘Spirit of Adventure’ which has taken inspiration from countries rich in nature and beauty like Persia, India, Egypt and Japan especially, which has given Patrick Jouin the idea to host an exciting, dream-like exhibition in The Mori Arts Centre in Tokyo. It has been titled the ‘Spirit of Beauty, which will, until the 17th January, be displaying 100 years of Van Cleef & Arpels.
But because we’re so busy jam packing our next issue, we won’t be able to be in Tokyo before Christmas, but we’ll keep staring at our Damien Hirst covers and Van Cleef & Arpels butterflies!
