Today’s Pop is Ashley in Istanbul.
There are fashion weeks and then there is Istanbul in late October, the temperature in the Eighties and the first fashion week of this amazing city in full swing.
The first 24 hours of “Fashionable Istanbul” (slightly suspect name, lovely lovely people) was dominated by boat trips on the Bosporus. A late night exclusive jaunt hosted by the Cavalli family was trumped the next morning when many of the friendliest faces of Milan fashion joined Roberto and Eva Cavalli for a lunch afloat featuring a “Pock It Lock It” dance display by Margherita Missoni with Misty Kyd Heath.
Margherita promptly fled a legion of male admirers on a private launch, while Misty re-enacted the love scene of Titanic with Mr Cavalli. Maybe you had to be there…
What other fashion calender event offers such chic waterbound socialising? Istanbul is already on the travelista’s map, the advent of its new annual fashion weekend will surely take thing to a whole new level.
