Today’s Pop is Megan. She’s been holed up in Alabama for the last few weeks. Many of us (left in the office) miss her presence so much we’ve resorted to naming a coffee after her: the Megan cappuccino. Nah, that’s not true. She not a cappuccino – she’s a macchiato.

As a picky perfume person, I was very surprised when I walked by and caught a whif of Tom Ford. While I have been under a rock, he has created quite the collection, and I was surprised to only find one or two fragrances that I did not love.  Yes, love.  Strong words are necessary when describing these smells.  To sum up his fragrances, they all share a timeless hint of sophistication and make you want to come back for more. The bottles aren’t too shabby either, with glass, glitz and old school glamour.

Perfect. The most recent addition is his Private Blends is Arabian Wood.  Obsessed. It’s clean, crisp, and every bit of the summer you wanted and needed.  Hard to pick between the dozen, but you don’t have to: you can layer them and mix them as you choose.  Each of the fragrances in the Private Blends holds a memory for Mr. Ford, and when you smell them, it is easy to rustle up a few memories of your own:  the smell of rich leather in the stables; walking barefoot on wet grass with the scent of orange blossoms in the air; lying on a beach in Portofino at sunset…

But also a favourite is the Black Orchid.  There is a body creme which makes your skin feel and shimmer like silk, luminous hair perfume that keeps your hair soft, and (my personal favourite) a roll-on touch pen for your purse. Apply for instant sex appeal.

P.S. to my next boyfriend:  please wear Tom Ford for Men. Thanks.
