Today’s Pop is Becky. She is trembling with excitement, love and lust. The POP legend Ed Ruscha dropped by the POP offices in Mayfair today to let us know what he’s been up to…

Last week we blogged about the Live Strong charity exhibition, sponsored by Nike. As a nice little follow-up, one of the artist featured in the exhibit popped into the POP office to say hi.


POP: So Ed, what brings you to London?


ER: I’m stopping by from visiting the Tour de France. I’m not a bike person but i got interested in this through Lance Armstrong , and I am part of this exhibit he put together for his charity “Live Strong” . Its a Cancer research foundation. He had a number of artists put works in an exhibit that are being sold for charity, so we went there to watch the last day of the race. Some of the riders came to the exhibit at Emmanuel Perrotin so that was all good. And I couldn’t go to France without bouncing off here to London.


Ed is also preparing for his Hayward Gallery painting retrospective and a secret book show at Gagosian in October. Are we excited? Damn right we are!
