Todays Blog is Becky. Pop magazine is running just a little late, so we went clubbing in Newcastle. The working week cancelled due to a severe case of wine flu…

Newcastle Upon Tyne
I can hardly believe that the cultured, suave and chic Ashley Heath ever managed to survive three years of “living up North”. At Rockshots in Newcastle they still remember him when he was an acid house evangelist of indeterminate sexuality. They have pictures too…
We came to party and I for one left without a small part of my frontal lobe. Long gone are the days of the original Northern house revolution and Ashley’s acid days/daze with posh Durham school girls, but dear God the vibe lives on.

A grimy, dark, dank , sexy mother fucker of a club. Grinding and gurning new generation trendies, trannies, boys kissing girls, kissing boys, kissing girls, girls kissing girls? Last Waltz plays a mixture of all of the best house music from back when it was still called disco, through to killer modern house which London folk are now starting to call disco all over again. (Ashley get those Savile Row slippers off and get back on the dance floor!) The music tends to be either exceptionally intelligent, or insanely stupid and in a lot of cases the lines between the two are blurred. The one uniting factor in is that it has to make people dance, simple as that.

I left the club with heart racing, limbs flailing, body breaking. Jeeeez.
Here’s the important bit… Every Sunday at Madame Koo’s on Collingwood St., Newcastle-upon-Tyne We run from 11pm – 3am.
See you there later?
NB
Drink lots… take pictures of beardy boys in plaid shirts… I CAN’T REMEMBER WHY!!!
