POP 042/ Sunday, 12 June 2009
Today’s Pop is Spider. A fringe member of our Pop Berlin team, she failed completely to blog from Berlin’s fashion week the week before last as promised. After this impassioned post she is now 85% forgiven.

“Berlin Fashion Week”. I mean, who needed it. So it got a bit more professional and Suzy Menkes turned up with the usual half-cocked comment. It’s taken me a good week to recover.
I liked it here when the fashion was properly strange and crap. The highlight of Berlin’s fashion mini-week this year was the impromptu party thrown by new Pop contributor Tabi Charaf outside her Pop Berlin workshop space. One word about that magical live performance by Warren Suicide: GUITARS!!!
I didn’t take any pictures. Neither did anyone else apparently. Cool.
All the interesting magazines here seem to have gone bust and then well-funded glossy magazines roll into town on a freebie and start chatting shit. Like I say, it’s taken me a week to calm myself.
Everybody is doing a “Teen Issue” again, apparently. That’s what the well-funded glossies were chit chatting. Like, bet that needed some real out-the-fancy-shoe-box thinking. IT’S, UM, BEEN DONE BEFORE! The new i-D is just out here with a Spongebob Geek spin, which I guess is something.
Most importantly, bet no-one has got IFoughtTheLaw369 in their teen dream magazzzeens:
Of course they haven’t. Because this girl is the real deal.
Fucken well-funded teen media brats. Call me when you’ve learnt to play all the parts to “Feed Me With Your Kiss” or “Suesfine” and you bought every last instrument with money earned as a waitress in a shit bistro your cool raver auntie owns.
GUITARS!!!!
I am now OBSESSED with IFoughtTheLaw369!!!
Here she is without the specs…
Bit special, nein? xxx
