1. Wow, we’ve seen your stuff at Dover Street Market but you’ve definitely stolen the show for us in Venice with this piece on your arm. What’s the background on it?

I am fascinated by the human body. I’ve been working in my last collection on eyes,hands,mouthes and nose. The hand is in history of jewellery a simbol of religion ,of blessing and protection.

2. How do you decide on choice of material?

For such a big piece and such strong shape I played with most classical materials: yellow gold,pavé of white diamonds and a huge black diamond of 44 karats. I really like black diamonds they are very sophisticated and rock at the same time.

3. From where do you draw your inspiration?

My childhood,my town,my fears,friends,my daugther… from my personal experience and my little obsessions.

4. Did you / do you buy a lot of jewelry apart from your own?

During my trips I love to buy ethnic pieces. I just came back from the Gulf with exeptional antique hands of fatima.

5. Any thoughts on extending beyond your jewelry line into clothing or accessories?

Yes, yes, never say never! In fact I already did two collaborations. The first was with the gloves Causse – I did "les gants bijoux" – and the second was with Alain Mikly. For Mikly I customised four pairs of sun glasses. At the moment I am actually in talks with an italian brand for a small collection of mini dresses.
