- Escaping all the Biennale madness by taking a trip to the Lido beach (for me, a walk across the street) and then a plunge into the lagoon to pick up sea shells of all shapes and sizes. You can’t ever beat that Visconti "Death In Venice" spirit. (Although a well-deserved freshly-chilled white peach Bellini at Harry’s Bar afterwards sure beats the Plague…)
