Today’s Pop is Megan, proudly Young American (prefers Dylan to Bowie) and spending far too much time thinking about the new YSL evening dresses. Megan just bought the new CD reissue of "A Kiss In The Dreamhouse" by

Siouxsie And The Banshees .

Dangerous, provocative and lots of carats…

Boucheron has created a new line of jewellery called “Gaîté Parisienne.” To say I’m impressed would be more than an understatement. I’m intoxicated. But then I am sitting on the bus every morning lost in some gorgeous palatial garden courtesy of prime-time Siouxsie. "Cascade", "Painted Bird", "She’s A Carnival"…

I feel sure Sioux would approve of this Boucheron obsession. (We’re in tune this week you see.) The line was inspired by several Parisian women that instead of making a ripple in the ponds of their time created real tidal waves. They include Lucie Delabigne, Josephine Baker, Loïe Fuller, Jeanne Souchard and a couple of ladies from the Moulin Rouge, who Boucheron described as “liberated, beautiful women, sometimes dangerous and always elegant.” The designs and colors are bold and flashy and fit the nature of the women they were inspired by.

My favourite eye-candy here is the Louise set, inspired by Louise Weber, a dancer from the Moulin Rouge who invented the Can-Can and was famously nicknamed “La Goulue” (“The Glutton”) by

24

Toulous Lautrec . Weber would famously down much of her customers’ champagne during routines.

"Oh the air was shining, Shining like a wedding ring… I felt 10,000 volts, My chest was full of eels… Pouting, Shouting!"

That was "Cascade" by

25

Siouxsie , of course. But the Louise set goes just great along with it – it’s loopy design adorned with the most beautiful emeralds and it emanates a very go-getting, glamorous Can-Can goddess in her ruffled Parisian finery.

Jeanne’s jewelry set is also a highlight: named for

47

Jeanne Souchard , the founder of one of Paris’ first tearooms. Ladurée, the necklace, is arguably even more scrumptious than the babas aux rum and tartes that Souchard became so famous for. With its rubies, coral and violet sapphires, it surely goes well with any afternoon tea. It’s also the perfect attire for my imaginary Kiss In The Dreamhouse this week.

"You are the melting men, You are your situation, There is no time to breath, And yet one single breath, Leads to an insatiable desire… So Melt! My lover, melt!…"

Bravely glamorous women from

28

Louise Weber through to

22

Siouxsie Sioux should always be celebrated and thanked too for their musing. And Boucheron’s GP collection is very special indeed.
